Scott Tucker - Superintendent of Sleeping Bear Dunes

With 28 years of service in the National Park Service (NPS), Scott Tucker currently serves as the Superintendent of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. He has been in this position since 2016. Prior to this role, Scott was the Superintendent of Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, overseeing seven park units along the Columbia River and Pacific Coast from Long Beach, Washington, to Cannon Beach, Oregon.
Before joining Lewis and Clark, Scott spent five years as the Park Manager of President’s Park in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for the 54 acres of NPS property surrounding the White House complex. He also served five years at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian as its first Manager of Visitor Services, where he developed the museum’s visitor services program and helped lead preparations for its landmark 2004 opening.
Earlier in his career, Scott held positions at National Mall and Memorial Parks, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park in Skagway, Alaska.
Originally from Colorado, Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the University of Northern Colorado, with minors in History and Archaeology.
